Join us for a holiday tradition of The Nutcracker that welcomes all, where everyone is free to enjoy the show in their own way. Feel the magic of the music and the dancing without overwhelming noises and lights. Twirl in your seat, feel free to come and go, and experience the joy of the holiday season as you watch the Nutcracker Prince guide Clara through the journey of a lifetime.

What is a Sensory Friendly performance?

What to expect in the theatre?

What to expect in the lobby?

This performance and in-theater experience is designed to welcome guests who are neurodiverse, have sensory sensitivities, and need additional accessibility accommodations to enjoy the ballet.

  • The house lights will not be completely dark during the show.

  • There will be no flashing or strobe lights.

  • Loud noises from the stage will be restricted.

  • Some audience noise and/or talking might occur and is permitted.

  • Entering and exiting the theater is allowed throughout the performance. 

  • Soothing devices such as iPads will be permitted.

  • Fidget objects, noise-reducing headphones, and other sensory tools or devices  are allowed inside the theater during the performance. Audience members can  feel free to bring their own comfort items with them into the theater.

  • Audience members are able to meet some of the dancers before the show.

  • Designated quiet spaces will be available for audience members who may need to take a break from the performance.

  • There will be tables with pointe shoes, tutus, and some props that audience members are welcome to look at and touch.

  • Large Print Programs are available. 

  • Audience members will have access to a preview guide to prepare their visit.
